The Beach II

There are lots of beautiful beaches to visit here. This one was on Jeckyll Island where you actually have to pay a toll to visit the island. Some of the old settlers during the 1930's there were the Rockefellers, the Asters and other big family names.
Sharon and Ashton have taken us all over to see the sights. It's been great getting to know their family even better.

We visited the beach and the old Coast Guard base on St. Simons Island on one of our weekends. Daddy and son were having a little bonding time.
The beaches here are beautiful, but a little X-rated with all of the bikinis!

Our Church Here

We have been attending a Southern Baptist church with the Cropps. The people are great and the teaching has been really good too. I'm starting to make some friends here in our neighborhood too. It reminds me a little of Thorne Bay since everyone waves out here if you know them or not. I love it!
VBS is this weekend and Sharon and I are going to help with it. Should be fun and a good way to get to know some of the other people in the church.
I met a couple headed to Ketchikan on a cruise and told them they need to go on Lighthouse, totems and Eagles tour while they are there. Maybe I should get a commission!

Bath Time!

Here are a few pictures of our first week here. Memorial Day weekend Eric had a 3 day weekend so we went to a hotel to spend some family time together. Benaiah was so excited to see his daddy again! He loves his baths too so he gets one every night for his exercise. He's starting to teeth too. Fun stuff!
The weather wasn't too hot when we got here (eighty-some during the day,) but has heated up into the upper nineties with very high humidity. It feels good to be out in it for a while, then airconditioning is a must!

Great Uncle Lee

Also on our way back, we met up with my Uncle Lee for lunch. It was good to see him again. We also stopped at my grandpa's grave site. My mom set Benaiah up in a tree. As you can see, he wasn't too thrilled with it. I'm noticing we have alot of pictures with him crying. Hmmm.

The Way Home

On our way home, we stayed a couple of nights with Don and Mavis. They reminded me that we had actually met on a ferry trip before my parents even knew them. They have been so kind to my parents; it was a joy to be reaquainted!

Horse Sense

While we were in Montana, several of Cory and Jennilee's mares were foaling or had just had them. Benaiah met his first horse face-to-face. I don't think either one quite knew what to think!

The Birds

Benaiah met his Grandpa Bird for the first time and also his Uncle Cory, Aunt Jennilee and cousin Emily. We all went through a bad case of the flu while we were there, but otherwise had a great time. The only thing that would've been better is if Eric could have been there too!

Grandpa and Grandma Nash

My parents, Benaiah and I drove to Montana together to see Eric's family. (Not on the tractor.)
We had a wonderful time together. It was really hard for me to say goodbye to them when Benaiah and I left.

(Sorry again about the sidways picture. I'm still learning.)

Great Grandmas

Benaiah met his three great grandmas while we were in Washington and Montana. (Sorry about the sideways pic. Grandma Hahn!) He met lots of other family too on our travels. I only wish Eric could have been with us too!

Pals

Little Logan was born about 2 months after Benaiah. We hope they will be good pals. We'll get another picture of them together once we return.

Yacht Trip

Before we left on our trip, we went with some of the other pastors and deacons on a yacht trip up to Naha. It was a rainy day, but was a wonderful trip on such a beautiful boat. We even saw a submarine on our way back. It was great to be with friends before we left.

Young Adults Group

This is our part of our young adults group before we left on our trip. We really miss you all!

Georgia Beaches

The Cropps took Benaiah and I to the beach last week. I finally got to step into the Atlantic Ocean - a goal of mine. It was a hot day and the breeze at the beach felt great!
I spotted a lady and her daughter fishing with open pots. They said they were fishing for blue crabs. I asked if I could see one, and sure enough, they are blue! These are the crabs they use to make the famous crab cakes here.
As far as food, Eric and I have tried southern barbecue, fried okra, and boiled peanuts. I say yum to all of them!
The girls and Sharon have all been helping with Benaiah. He won't know what to do when he doesn't have any big sisters around when we get home!
